dining, events and teaching in Aberdeenshire, Angus & beyond
hello!
I’m Sanjay, a biochemist-turned-chef with a passion for game cookery and teaching.
I’ve always loved all aspects of food - the history of dishes, the stories they tell, the techniques we use, and of course, eating!
I started life in food and learned all my fundamentals in fine-dining, but have steadily explored teaching, large-scale production and settled now into a mix of all of the above.
I love seeing what I can make with venison, pheasant, rabbit and all game, all of which are in abundance here in Aberdeenshire. Teaching other people how to also get the most from game is a real pleasure, as there’s nothing better than sharing skills and stories.
When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me out and about with Fig, our 2 year old Lab - hunting for mushrooms, chasing wild birds, or strolling along the beach.

what I offer
Private Dining
Fancy a meal to remember? Whether you’re a group of 2 or 20, I offer totally bespoke dining experiences, completely tailored to your preferences. I focus on seasonal ingredients, often that I’ve harvested myself, and use my own selection of classical recipes, with a twist. All my private dining is done on a personal, by- arrangement-only basis - you won’t find me with any catering agency.

Classes & Tuition
Want to learn how to skin and butcher a whole deer? Forage for and cook wild mushrooms? Or master the fundamentals of Indian cuisine? My classes and tuition cover a range of topics, including game butchery, foraging, knife skills and more. These can be bespoke, 1:1 classes or chatty demonstrations for larger groups to enjoy - always accompanied by good food!

Unique Products
I’ve had a fun journey to get to where I am now in the world of food - working in classical fine dining restaurants, organising cookery schools for young adults, and making Indian ready meals! Along the way, I’ve developed a few special products that are just too good not to share. One day I’ll get to the stage where I can sell these. Stay tuned and send me good wishes for commercialising!
